AFRICAN PROVERBS

Does this exist anymore?

i walk by one day and overheard two children say things to each other like:

‘when a child who does not destined to know what killed his father, will start a journey to the land of the dead’ and

‘when you see a Lion running and looking back, it does not mean he is afraid, he is only looking back to see the distance he had covered’.

i stood there marveled at there conversation. those days it was the morning wake-up call and also the good night blessing but now a days even the movies we use to hear this a lot are neglecting it for a foreign tongue ‘if there is anything like that’. What had happened to our African Proverbs and How do we Regain what we have lost. Food for thought.
